gathering at the home of a known pedophile?

I am not saying Rabbi Granofsky is a pedophile since I have no evidence that Rabbi Granofsky is a pedophile and I hope he is not a pedophile himself and only associates with them. I am just saying if is extremely inappropriate for a Rosh Hayashiva to have or allow any association with a known pedophile and certainly should not host Ohr David events at a known pedophile home. I hope Rabbi Granofsky will eventually stop condoning pedophiles by having yeshiva events hosted by a known pedophile. Please encourage Rabbi Granofsky to speak out against pedophiles he associate with. I wish I saw this red flag prior to sending my son to Ohr David. A yeshiva’s legacy shouldn’t be that they a let pedophile host yeshiva events. Shouldn’t a rosh hayashiva’s job be to protect students from a pedophile and not introduce students or former students to a pedophile. I urge people to call Rabbi Granofsky and tell him that yeshiva’s shouldn’t associate with known pedophiles. This needs to be corrected immediately. We recommend you do your own due dillegence.

Does the Torah say you can lie and deceive if you have good intentions
Apparently Ohr David in Jerusalem thinks, it is good practice to do it. In case the video is pulled from embarrassment , I will put just the clip, I would like you to review. I prefer you see it in it’s entirety. Start at the 28.30 and watch the Rosh Hayeshiva along with the former Ohr David recruiter laugh at deceiving potential bacharim.

Ohr David in Jerusalem
There is nothing wrong with starting a cult yeshiva. But don’t lie to the students and parents to achieve an anti Torah and anti g-d goal. Doing an aveyra because you falsely believe you are doing a mitzvah is not ok. It would be equally deceptive if a modern orthodox yeshiva told parents they will guide their son to learn in a kollel all day, and then taught in a way that promotes a college education instead.
We will prepare your son for college and give him an orthodox outlook
Pure lies. Not even a shred of truth about college, They did 100% the opposite. They put my son in front of a Rabbi who taught my son that going to college is “Issar d-ariasa”(forbidden according to the Torah). I could not find one orthodox rabbi who could find a spot in the Torah where college is forbidden. I understand their may be some orthodox rabbi’s that say it Issar Darabanim (Forbidden by rabbis) but none of the orthodox rabbis I know.
Furthermore, after 17 years of teaching my son to always be honest even when it doesn’t seem beneficial to him and hashem is the only one that really determines the outcome in any sitution is thrown out the window. Ohr David apprarantly does not believe in this torah philosophy and lies to parents to get them to do the wrong thing and send them to Ohr David.
Your Son will thrive and learn
This is also not what is likely to happen. I found out at the end of the year that my son did not gain any torah values.
If you think it is good for your child to live in squalor the rest of his life, you may be ok with what Ohr David teaches their students, It may not be wise to promote narishkite but It may not be smart to glorify living in abject poverty. The story of praising someone for not working a job and only being able to feed their children cabbage is not the education I was led to believe or thought would benefit my son. You shouldn’t be shaming people who work to make enough money to feed their children a healthy meal, clean clothes and a safe place to live and teach their children torah values. That is not the lifestyle Ohr David promotes to their students.

If you lie and deceive about what your yeshiva does and you charge tuition, is it stealing?
Not according to the Rosh Hayashiva of Ohr David Jerusalem. I’m sure he Rabbi Granofsky is well intentioned when he doesn’t follow the ten commandments that G-d gifted the Jewish people.
If you send your son to Ohr David in Jerusalem for a year at age 17 and your son turns 18 years old, and the parents discover that Ohr David lied about what they will teach your son and the parents decide to send their son to a well known highly respected yeshiva in the United States that is closer to home. Ohr David will tell you that your son is 18 and they don’t need your permission to take him for another year because your son is of age. I understand the law and legally they are correct. My question is are they ethically correct according to the torah?
Is the son following the ten commandments? I am not talking about a case where the son would not be learning at the same or higher level. Rabbi Granofsky was asked point blank if this breaks the fifth commandment given to us by hashem. His reply, I don’t know, I would need to ask. If I buy that Rabbi Granofsky is really that inept that he can’t answer a simple question, maybe, he should not be a Rosh Hayashiva of Ohr David. If he doesn’t know, why would he take a student that is breaking or possibly breaking the fifth commandment. I personally steer clear of actions that I am not sure if they break a commandment. His other reply during further conversation is. Your son is over 18, You have no say in whether he goes to this yeshiva. We will take him as a student even if you don/t want hi to come to Ohr David. That is until I put this website up. I guess they were under the impression if they did the right thing on time, I would take the website down. I feel it is neccesarry to warn other parent about the real Ohr David and not the lies they tell parents.

Aside from deceit and lies not being a Torah Value
There is other harm our sons. I don’t think there is a caring Jewish parent that does not know what their son’s need better than someone from a deceitful yeshiva interviewing him for an hour.
Every Jewish boy has unique needs that may not be obvious to even the most insightful person. That is why we shouldn’t lie to prospective Jewish parents and students. I would be just as upset if the yeshiva told me that they would teach my son to learn at a higher level and then took him to beaches and bars. That would not be best for my son either. Don’t erroneously confuse standing up to a Yeshiva that may harm other students as being anti-orthodox. It is quite the opposite. I know several people who passed on the wonderful opportunity to send their child to Israel for a year because they don’t know or trust the yeshiva to do what they promise. I recommend sending your child to yeshiva in Israel for a year or more to help them grow as a Jew. What I don’t recommend is sending your child to a yeshiva in which the Rosh Hayashiva confuses himself with g-d and I do believe that Rabbi Granofsky is confused if his ideas should supercede Hashem’s rules.
If you are going to make decisions for other people that may effect their lives, you should be competent to do it.
Computer Education Convention
My son’s original plan was to go to Israel for a year and then go to college for computer science. There was a specific computer convention that happens once a year somewhere around the world. The year my son was in Israel, the convention just happened to be in Israel. This would have helped my son determine the route he would like to go in the computer field. I told him to go to the convention. He let Rabbi Granofsky know that his father wanted him to go to the computer convention. Rabbi Granofsky told him not to go even though I requested him to go because he shouldn’t lose even a few hours of learning to go to an event that would help his future career. Funny enough the next day I got a call from my son in an Ohr David sanctioned event, instead of learning torah as I expected, he was telemarketing for donations for the yeshiva. For some reason, you can stop learning if it is an event Rabbi Granofsky wants but not his father. When I asked Rabbi Granofsky about why he said that, he couldn’t “recall” giving that advice. If you give advice that breaks the fifth commandment and harms someone’s life financially, I feel you should take the decision seriously enough that you should remeber it a month later. This is such a cavilier attitude towards helping the young men in the yeshiva.
